i recently saw the ‘design for a living world’ exhibition at the cooper-hewitt. all included photos panels were printed on aluminum (instead of the usual paper or vinyl mounted on foamcore or sintra). which gave them a very unique and interesting look.
then i recently came across imagewizards, a company offering high definition photographic imaging on aluminum. one of their tag lines is ‘remember the first time you saw hdtv?’, and the testimonials on their site are very impressive.
haven’t been able to test this out yet, but will definitely keep it in mind for some future large print.
