a showcase of grid-based designs for print and web.
i’m redoing my portfolio. maybe that explains the recent graphic design related posts …
for general inspiration, browse through the aiga design archives. more than 20,000 selections from aiga’s annual design competitions, plus special collections of major american design firms. dating back from 1924!
as a follow-up to the two previous posts on the noun project and the aiga/dot symbols, here’s a short video by iain anderson, using the aiga/dot symbols.
enjoy :-)
you’ve seen them used. and you too can use them, for free:
developed in the 70’s through a collaboration of the united states department of transportation (dot) and the american institute of graphic arts (aiga), these symbols are sometimes referred to as the dot pictograms or the aiga/dot symbols.
as work of the united states government, they are in the public domain, therefore can be used by anyone without any licensing issues.
download them at the aiga website in eps or gif format.
… the noun project collects, organizes and adds to the highly recognizable symbols that form the world’s visual language, so we may share them in a fun and meaningful way …
get free and mostly public domain symbols at the noun project.
