the one good chair design competition is back for 2009. this year’s theme: design an original chair that embodies and enhances a particular place, anywhere in the world but one you know and love, even if you don’t live there.

the new york chapter of the idsa (industrial designers society of america) is having two events next week wednesday, 4/29/09: first a studio tour of a couple of dumbo based designers, then their usual stammtisch.

after an intense year of work, new york based ron gilad is showing over eighty new and unique pieces at his first solo exhibition at Wright in chicago. as usual, he created some amazing pieces.
